HEATcast: NBA Lockout Politics & Media Bias

How long will star players like Dwyane Wade and LeBron James stand with role players like James Jones in the NBA Lockout?

Basketball stars only account for a minority of the National Basketball Players Association, but they drive the majority of the revenue as the most productive players in the league. A previous article on the Miami Heat Index, "Dollars, Dwyane & De-Certification", analyzed how collective bargaining de-valued the services of star players like the Heat's Three Kings.

A Harvard political science professor spoke with the Miami Heat Index about the political tension between star players and role players in the NBPA, how it could impact the negotiations in the NBA Lockout and the effect of media bias on player strategies.
