HEAT Check: Where NBA Owners Stand After Canceling November

Since they canceled all games in November, have the bargaining positions of NBA owners changed in the last 120 days?

Last month, the Miami Heat Index posted changes in the bargaining positions of NBA owners since the All-Star break. Since the National Basketball Players Association has not blinked while the owners canceled the first month of the season, have the owners' positions started to change?

This spreadsheet lists NBA owners positions on the lockout reported by Mark Heisler from the Los Angeles Times at the All-Star break, Henry Abbott from espn.com in September and the LA Times in October.

Changes

At the All-Star break, Heisler reported four owners seemed willing to cancel games. In September, Abbott reported seven owners seemed willing to cancel games. In October, the LA Times reporting makes it seem like 14 owners appear willing to cancel more than just November's games.

Here is the list of owners that appear willing to cancel more games (owners in bold are on the NBA's labor relations committee):

As time goes on, either the reporting seems to reveal how committed the owners may be to canceling the entire season or my interpretation becomes more cynical. It's probably a combination of both.

The best change for Miami Heat fans is that owner Micky Arison was reported as taking a hard-line position in February by the last two rounds of reporting have him being in favor of playing the season instead of canceling games.
