Ian Clark was the biggest story from the Miami HEAT's 1st game in the Orlando Summer League. The guard from Belmont University showed his shooting and defensive prowess in the NCAA could translate to a higher level of play.

Most Productive Players
Ian Clark was the most productive HEAT player in the team's 1st game of the Orlando Summer League against the Utah Jazz. Clark had the best NCAA stats on the HEAT's Summer League roster, so his production in the 1st game was no surprise. The surprising thing was that he only played 3 minutes in the 1st half.
Clark increased the HEAT's chance of winning by 19% in just 16 minutes of action with 15 points, 3-4 3-pt. shooting and 72% shooting efficiency. According to a Belmont University press release, Clark was the 3rd most efficient shooter in college basketball last season and selected as a Defensive All-American.
A guard with the potential to shoot like Ray Allen and defend like Norris Cole is intriguing. He is definitely the player to watch in Summer League for that 3rd PG spot if the HEAT choose to go that direction. Clark is playing for the Warriors in the Vegas Summer League, but the prospect of playing with the 2-time champs and LeBron James has to be better than playing with his favorite player (Steph Curry) if it comes down to a bidding war. Of course, that's jumping the gun. But HEAT fans need to keep an eye on Clark for the rest of the Orlando Summer League.

- Dwight Buycks (guard from Marquette) racked up 13 assists for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He will play for the HEAT in the Vegas Summer League.
- Vincent Council (guard from Providence) was the 3rd least productive HEAT player in the game. He decreased the team's chance of winning by 6% with 4 points, 4 turnovers and 4 fouls in 16 minutes.
- Dewayne Dedmon (center from USC) was the 2nd least productive HEAT player in the game. He decreased the team's chance of winning by 12% with 0 points, 0-3 shooting, 4 fouls and 2 turnovers in 14 minutes.
- Myck Kabongo (guard from Texas) was below average. He only produced 0.068 Est.WP40 and only increased the team's chance of winning by 4% in 24 minutes, but he outplayed lottery pick Trey Burke. The player of the year from Michigan decreased the Jazz's chance of winning by 5% with just 8 points on 1-12 shooting.
- Jarvis Varnardo provided below average production at 0.076 Est.WP40. He only increased the HEAT's chance of winning by 6% in 31 minutes (average production would have increased HEAT chance of winning by 8%). Varnardo appeared dominant at times in the 1st half, but he disappeared in the 2nd half.
