HEAT Produced: LeBron James & Ray Allen Led the Way in Beijing

LeBron James and Ray Allen were the most productive players in the Miami HEAT's blowout preseason win over the LA Clippers in Beijing, China.

This article uses the Estimated Wins Produced statistic created by sports economist David Berri. Average players produce 0.100 Estimated Wins per 48 minutes (Est.WP48) because a team of average players form a team with a 0.500 winning percentage. Star players produce +0.200 Est.WP48 and great players produce +0.300 Est.WP48. See the HEAT Produced Page for more information.

Game Notes
Once again, Allen was the most productive player in a HEAT preseason game. He produced 0.2 est. wins in 26.2 minutes (0.387 est.WP48) from 15 points on 64% shooting efficiency with 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 turnover. Jamal Crawford (0.153 est.WP48) and Willie Green (-0.232 est.WP48) only combined to produce an est. -0.004 wins at shooting guard for the Clippers while Allen and Dwyane Wade (0.116 est.WP48) combined to produce an est. 0.3 wins.

Wade struggled offensively with just 5 points on 22% shooting, 2 assists and 2 turnovers, but his defense lifted his production to the level of an average SG in the game thanks to 4 defensive boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks and 4 fouls. His Win Score on offense was -6 but his Win Score on defense was +5.

While the HEAT veteran guards had a productive game, the young guards struggled. Norris Cole only produced -0.008 est.WP48 and Terrel Harris was the second-least productive HEAT player in the game with -0.248 est.WP48. As Cole continues to play himself out of the rotation, Harris may be playing himself off the roster.

LeBron was the second-most productive player in the game with 0.2 est. wins produced in 26.2 minutes (0.363 est.WP48) from 20 points on 55% shooting efficiency with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 steal and only 1 foul. Blake Griffin was no match for LeBron, despite producing 19 points and 8 rebounds. His 6 turnovers and 4 fouls in 31.6 minutes reduced his overall production to -0.070 est.WP48.

The least productive HEAT player in the game was Josh Harrellson. Jorts produced -0.1 est. wins in 11.3 minutes (-0.251 est.WP48) from just 4 points on 25% shooting with no steals or blocks but 3 fouls. The most productive young big man on the HEAT roster after 2 preseason games is Robert Dozier. The last pick of the 2009 draft produced 0.350 est.WP48 in 9.2 minutes against the Clippers after producing 0.100 est.WP48 against the Hawks.

The spreadsheet below lists the wins produced stats estimated from the box score of the preseason game in Beijing.
