Alfredo Arteaga from HeatFreak.com emailed the LeBatard Show with Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers stats after LeBron James murdered the Celtics with 45 points and 15 rebounds in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. I think Alfredo was trying to show that LeBron didn't win the game by himself. Not sure I agree with that and the LeBatard Show didn't either. So they had some fun with the Wins Produced stats featured on this blog, the jerseys retired in American Airlines Arena and the NBA championship banners commercials featuring Paul Pierce and Kevin Durant.
In case you think Alfredo didn't appreciate what LeBron did in ECF Game 6, check out the articles below:
- LeBron’s game was the best no-tomorrow win of all time
- EC Finals, GAME 6: Miami Heat 98 – Boston Celtics 79 (Series 3-3) at HeatFreak.com
Of course, Alfredo didn't expect that performance from LeBron. His skepticism was covered on the HEATcast: Before & After Games 6 and 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals
Why Post This?
Do I like the LeBatard Show making fun of Wins Produced? Of course not.
Alfredo sent me an email during the original broadcast asking if I wanted to go on the show to explain Wins Produced and I declined. At the time, I had no idea what they were saying on the show. A few people on Twitter asked me if I sent an email with Wins Produced stats to the show and I had no idea what they were talking about since I listen to the LeBatard Show podcast and not the live broadcast. My response to Alfredo at the time was that if the LeBatard Show wanted someone to explain Wins Produced, then they should bring Dr. David Berri (the man who created it) back on the show. After finally hearing the clip, I'm glad I never pursued going onto the show.
Anyway... I posted the clip because after Madame NBA and I took shots at several bloggers in the Corporate Heaux Bloggers Award HEATcast, it's only fair that I post someone making indirect fun of this blog. I've also made fun of some of the things LeBatard's said on Twitter and turnabout's fair play.
Lastly, I regret the line from the HEAT Produced recap stating that Rio outplayed Rajon Rondo in Game 6 for the second consecutive time in the series. The difference between the two was small and really shouldn't have been highlighted. But hey, that's what you get with fanalysis - it's informed by subjectivity and not objectivity. This blog sponsors Rio's page at basketball-reference.com and so he always gets shine here.
Enjoy the clip. The jokes about testicles are home-erotic (that's what the LeBatard Show does) but the jokes about hanging them from the rafters are funny, too.
